Tressa is a Professional Home Economist with a degree in Human Nutritional Sciences from the University of Manitoba. A curiosity of the “why” behind all things food led her to pursue an education in nutrition and food security. Through her work in the community, Tressa has led countless cooking classes, facilitated workshops for those responsible for healthy meal and snack programs, and contributed to developing food skills education curriculum. In her current role, Tressa supports newcomers as they adapt to a new food environment, leads newcomer mentors through training to facilitate community food programs, and chairs the Newcomer Food & Nutrition Network. Tressa’s greatest pleasure is in sharing and celebrating foods with friends, family, colleagues, and community members.
