The Fall Edition of the Northern Sun is here! This edition tells the story of how two communities in Northern Manitoba are converting a would-be waste product into a valuable community resource. Dawson Bay and Pine Dock Manitoba have been working on starting up innovative new fish composting projects, turning fish waste, something that the two fishing communities have in abundance, into a rich compost that can be used in community gardens and greenhouses.
Find out more about fish composting, a new food producer’s co-op in Poplar River, land based education in Northern SK and processing wild rice by reading the full edition of the Northern Sun.
