Newcomer Farm Tour

Project: Building Community

At the end of May, an eager group of Newcomers and their families had the opportunity to tour and interact with two farms in rural Manitoba. Members from Rainbow Community Garden set out on a day long tour of Jonathan’s Farm in St. Andrew’s and Kurbis Country Market in Dencross, MB.

Jonathan’s Farm is committed to practicing ecological farming and growing their vegetables naturally. Kurbis Country is a market for healthy and organic products like eggs, chicken, veggies and much more!

These tours were a great opportunity for newcomers to reconnect with their rural roots, and experience how a farm works in Manitoba. It is also a unique experience for newcomers to learn new techniques or ideas that they can incorporate into their own fields and gardens.

Take a look at the photos we snapped while on the tour!
