As the 4th Annual Jimmy Roberts Memorial Culture Camp approaches (June 3 to 5), our students and staff at Churchill Community High School in La Ronge are ramping up preparation activities. Our Northern Lifestyles class has been out cutting and collecting wood. They also spent a day filleting white fish that will be smoked prior to our feast. The Cree language class is making posters and plans to cut alder for smoking the fish. Staff are busy in their preparations, checking our tipi and prospectors tents, approaching Elders to share at our activity stations and organizing for the feast. Lots left to be done but we’re well on our way!
